Brandon Colaprete began his architectural journey when he moved from his hometown in Rochester, NY, to attend Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture in Brooklyn, NY, where he completed his five-year professional B.Arch degree. During his time at Pratt, Brandon was selected to participate in the study abroad honors program in Rome, Italy, where he had the opportunity to live and travel the country to study all eras of Italian architecture.

Returning to his hometown in 2007, Brandon began working with CJS Architects on several award-winning projects, such as the Eastman Theatre East Wing, The Strong Museum of Play, and the Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at RIT.

In 2013, Brandon founded the architectural and interior design department at the multi-disciplinary design and manufacturing firm, Staach. Working closely with a diverse team of people with backgrounds in architecture, interior design, industrial design, and craftsmanship, Brandon served as the senior project designer for many projects primarily within the hospitality industry, such as Radio Social, The Playhouse / Swillburger, and Ugly Duck Coffee.

Also, in 2013, Brandon began a nine-year stint as an adjunct professor with the School for American Crafts at the Rochester Institute of Technology, teaching students to utilize digital technology to enhance their design process, ideation, communication, and craft. While at RIT, he also served as a mentor, critic, and lecturer to students in the Masters of Architecture program.

Brandon now lives with his partner, teenage son, and a lazy husky named Cool Hand Luke in Rochester, NY, where he enjoys fine dining, craft breweries, petting bunnies, cycling, snowboarding, and fly fishing.
